    Does God Wink At Us?

Sitting in the doctor’s office this week I saw a segment about When God Winks by SQuire Rushnell (yes his first name is spelled with a capital Q). WHAT’S A GODWINK? A godwink is what some people would call a coincidence, an answered prayer, or simply an experience where you’d say, “Wow, what are the odds of that!” What do godwinks mean?  Think about when you were a kid and someone you loved gave you a little wink across the dining room table…Mom or Dad or Grandma. You didn’t say “What do you mean by that?” You knew.  It meant: “Hey kid, I’m thinking about you right now.” That’s what…

    And the winner is……?

Every day is a warfare. One that we are all a part of. Being a teacher and parent I often entertain the question of why it’s so hard for some to do what is asked of them. Why is it so hard to be obedient? Then this morning, as I’m running some not so nice thoughts through in my head of what I would like to say to someone. The Lord gently nudges me and lets me know that I shouldn’t say those things. “But….what about this or that?” and he simply says to just be obedient and hold my tongue. To put others above myself regardless of what I…

    Happiness

What makes you happy? It’s easy to be happy when everything is going good. A lot of people, including myself at times, base their happiness on how everything around them is doing. If everything is fine with you and your spouse and kids, then you are fine. If everything’s a mess, then you are too. This is one area in our walk of faith that is a bit tougher than others. What is going on around us shouldn’t be what our happiness is based on. Most days my husband and I rarely get a conversation completed while the kids are still up. We try but it just doesn’t work out because we…

    It’s (not) My Birthday!

After seeing a sweet friend get flowers for her birthday yesterday I started thinking about how a birthday makes you feel. There is just something about the day of your birthday. It’s like something comes over us and nothing or no one can bring down this veil of pure happiness. I don’t know what it is, but you just feel like the queen of the world for a day. Now I am not a scholar of the Bible, but the only mention of birthday celebrations in the Bible was that of Pharoah of Egypt. He prepared a banquet for all his officials and staff where we learn that after two…

    Am I failing?

So let me paint the scene from this morning for you. I was getting ready for church and a 90th birthday celebration. My dish was in the oven, clothes in the dryer, and all the boys were out feeding the cows. It was just me and the girls. I noticed that it was a little quiet, so the thought of them possibly being outside near the road sent me going through the house to check on them only to find them in the kitchen. They had pulled chairs up to the counter and had found the bowl of cereal my oldest had left on the counter. Of course, they did what any…

    God Loves Variety!

When I was younger, I often wished I had a different nose, smaller thighs, thicker hair, and nicer clothes. Sadly, I could probably name a few more. I would look at other girls and find something beautiful and then wish I had that. Some of you probably did the same thing, and some might still struggle with feeling as if your good enough or finding your purpose. You might wish you had more money, a better car, or a bigger house. You might have even wished for someone else’s talent. Are you comparing yourself with the Joneses or with God’s standards? It took a long time for me to get where I was content with…

    Hello world!

I suppose my first post should explain the name of this blog, Love Led Me Here.  Everyone has their traveled road with souveniers along the way. I believe that every bump and hill in that road has molded and shaped us into the person we are today. For some, your bumps may have been a loss of someone, divorce, depression, disappointment, an unexpected change in your career, health issues, marriage struggles, financial difficulties, and the list could go on. Whatever the bumps, hills, or even mountains that were in your life’s journey…you made it through because of LOVE. It was the love of a friend, spouse, or even your family, but MOST of all it was the love of…
